Muge Karatas, LL.M.
Ms. Muge Karatas completed her LL.M. in International and Comparative Law with Highest Honors at the George Washington University Law School, ranking in the top 5 among 130 students.
Ms. Karatas graduated Bilkent University Faculty of Law with Highest Honors, with a focus on international law. She participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court which is the largest and most prestigious moot court in the world.
She has interned in Turkey’s Highest Court, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, under three different Justices. She has also interned in several law firms in Ankara and Istanbul, including Cakmak Attorney Partnership (formerly associated with White & Case LLP) and Herguner Bilgen Ozeke Attorney Partnership. Ms. Karatas has expertise in international and Comparative Law, and is experienced in business law, corporations, contract law, and human rights law. She is fluent in Turkish, English, and French.
Her writings include “How to Draw the Lines in the Aegean: A Multifaceted Conflict Turning into Casus Belli Between Greece and Turkey” and “Legal Analysis of IAEA Safeguard Inspections in Iraq”. Ms. Karatas enjoys learning about different cultures. She is interested in immigration law because it enables her to help foreigners reach their dreams and goals and make America their home.
